A holiday just would not be complete without staying in a hotel that has great room service, great decor, sublime food and oh yes, an indoor swimming pool! Why are we obsessed with pools when we go on holiday? There’s something luxurious about it. Being able to float in space, have your entire body supported and feel like you’re physically freer than ever. Pools are great for kids too as it keeps them occupied, while the parents get to sunbathe in peace and quiet (maybe). Devon is a great place to go for a staycation and staying in one of its hotels that has an indoor pool is the only way to spend your time in the town.
When it calls itself the ‘grand’ hotel, it better be. And take one look at it's exterior and you will be impressed. It has a large pool right outside next to the pier front. You get wafts of sea salt air, and if you book during the summer, you will have plenty of sunshine to enjoy too. The pool has it's own pool lounge chairs, where you can sit or lie down in the shade or right by the pool. It's exotic trees around the pool can almost make you believe you’re in the tropics.
Judging from the outside, it looks like a Miami hotel. The swooping hotel is on a hill, that slides down the landscape. Right near the bottom of the hotel is the outdoor swimming pool. Again, it's also surrounded by plants and trees you’d find in an exotic island somewhere. If you’re looking for Devon hotels with indoor pools, the Osborne will not let you down.
It has an audacious name, but it doesn’t disappoint. The indoor pool is in a separate building that is away from all the noise and rabble of the hotel. It's one of the cleanest we’ve seen, and it looks great thanks to the ceiling LED lights. They also have an indoor gym if you have to get your workout in, during the morning, afternoon or evening.
It's located in what appears to be a late Victorian building that looks like it would not be out of place in a World War Two epic. Aside from the looks, it has plenty of more to admire. The rooms are truly contemporary, with a minimalist approach. This gives guests lots of room to move around and breathe, even if you are in a single room.
This hotel is exactly how it sounds, built on a cliff. It's right by the beach, so you have an excellent chance to go out for the day with the family, make some sandcastles and return to your room in time for tea. The indoor pool is a medium-sized pool but it's not that deep. It's about 1.5 metres deep at the deepest end, and 1.0 meters at the shallow end. So no diving is possible but it's good enough. Not to mention, it also has a kiddie pool where your little one can wear some armbands and splash about.
A mixture of classic, roaring 20s and modern decor. This hotel catches your eye right away for it's decor and it's approach to the indoor pool. Right beside the L-shaped indoor pool is a hexagon shaped jacuzzi. It's quirky, different and it's purple dining room just tops off the entire experience. If you want somewhere fun and interesting to stay, this is your best bet.
There are family rooms and bridal rooms in this hotel. The location is right next to a great golf course. The access to the outdoors is immediate, so if you want to go for a walk before or after a meal, there’s nothing stopping you. And yes the indoor pool is quite as you would expect. A very large pool, clean, great lighting and plenty of lounge chairs around to get some rest after a long day.
Free parking and free internet, but you would expect that from a highly rated hotel. The rooms are quite basic in their decor, nothing flashy. However they have done well on their choice of space and room sizes. There’s plenty of space in each of the rooms, a great view out toward the gardens and a free breakfast as well.
Rooms can have a minibar and a safe. Quite the entrance into your room! The style is pretty much rustic seaside beach house. Lots of soft materials in the rooms, superb natural lighting and great choice of colours. The indoor pool is child-friendly and you can have a dip in the hot tub afterwards as well. The fresh sea air around the hotel is worth the trip alone.
This hotel ticks all the boxes, does everything well. The decor is great, bright colours and lots of different styles for each area. The sea views are great. You have access to the huge stretch of coast, so you can book a boat trip around to see the key features. Not to mention, the beaches are right at your doorstep. The indoor pool is great too, as unlike other hotels with indoor pools, it's built to be accessible from the outside too. It's built right next to the patio and dining area.
